Srinagar, Jul 26 (KNO): Beig Fardeen, a 15-year-old footballer from Srinagar, has been selected for the Junior National Football Championship, organized by the All India Football Federation. This championship will take place in Assam.
Fardeen’s journey, as per the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), to this achievement began with his participation in the Sub Junior National Football Championship 2023-24, held in Anantapuram, Andhra Pradesh. His performance there demonstrated his dedication and hard work in football.
Following this, over 2000 football players from across Jammu and Kashmir participated in trials, showcasing the region's burgeoning talent.
Out of them, 22 players were selected by the selection committee to represent Jammu and Kashmir in the upcoming championship in Assam.
Among the selected players, Beig Fardeen’s consistent performance stood out, earning him a spot on the team. Currently, Fardeen is undergoing training at the National Football Camp, further improving his skills for the championship.
“This is a proud moment for our family and for the entire region,” said Shamim Beig, Fardeen's father. He added, “Fardeen's hard work and dedication have paid off, and we are thrilled to see him represent Jammu and Kashmir at the national level.”—(KNO)
